Jack & Linda Mills Traditional Fish Smokers
Jack and Linda Mills have been fishermen most of their lives and have been traditionally smoking fish at Brighton Fishing Quarter for the last 11 years. You won’t get a better or fresher smoked fish sandwich in Brighton.
Jack and Linda built the little black smokehouse across the boardwalk from their arch when the moved in. They smoke fish here, in the traditional way, most days of the week. Fish is smoked with oak and applewood, and absolutely no chemicals are used apart from salt. If you see wisps of smoke curling out from the vents under the eaves of this little shack, you’ll know that the best and freshest fish is being smoked for your enjoyment.
Among the many delicious foods on offer are:
- Scrumptious hot mackerel sandwiches
- Fresh crab sandwiches
- Heart warming homemade fish soup
Look out for the board outside the arch which will tell you what today’s special is.
In the summer, Jack will man his grill and fries fresh mackerel outside the arch, caught and filleted that morning. They’re a scrumptious lunchtime snack in a bread roll – try them with a dash of lemon juice or a smear of mustard.
Jack and Linda Mills Traditional Smokehouse represents real, fresh honest food and brilliant value. A visit to Brighton seafront would not be complete without stopping here for a spot of alfresco lunch. What better way would there be to eat good wholesome fish than right by the sea?
Jack & Linda Mills Traditional Fish Smokers is open daily.
